The UPI QR Code accepts all UPI-based payments and supports both person-to-person and person-to-business transactions. On the other hand, the Bharat QR Code accepts UPI, credit, and debit card payments but exclusively supports person-to-business transactions. As a result, only businesses can obtain a Bharat QR code.
A static QR code is open and can receive any payment amount, requiring the customer to enter the amount during payment. In contrast, a dynamic QR code is linked to a fixed amount, allowing the customer to pay only the predetermined sum associated with the QR code.
The UPI QR was created by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) and is overseen by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
Bharat QR, jointly developed by NPCI, Mastercard, and Visa, operates under regulatory guidelines issued by the RBI.
